I got worried when the team used their dailies in the first two encounters, but they managed to survive. There was even a point where both the Warlord NPC and the Paladin went down, but the team was fine afterward. The new guy made things a bit difficult, though; he wanted to perform a lot of stunts and unusual combat actions (like dumping the liquor shelf of the bar on the ice elemental so he could be set on fire). And I had to fudge one or two die rolls. But they managed to get through everything. And most importantly, everyone had fun.
