My Gen Con Query

Alcareru

First Post
I must admit, after being a gamer geek and a Midwesterner, Ive never gone to Gen Con. I live in Indiana and now the chance to go seems like to good an opportunity to pass up. Indy is only 2 to 3 hours away. I dont feel I have an excuse. I almost went last year.

Then I heard and read the check in and reg nightmare stories.

So Gen Con vets-what are your opinions? I have several months to arrange vacation time and pre -reg, but do think it will be better? Was last year a hiccup or has Gen Con been in decline?

Opinions appreciated. Thanks.

To be honest, everything I've heard and seen indicates that the horrors of the neverending lines were a hiccup.

For one thing, it didn't really occur until around Saturday. I was in a few lines on Thursday and it wasn't all that bad.

Also, Peter Adkison wrote a post-con report which mentioned the lines and such, and admitted that this was an error on their part. Since it was the #1 complaint about the Con, he said it would be addressed this year, and I for one believe him.

I've loved every Gen Con I've been to. Last year was no exception, and I'm sure this one won't be either.
