My PHB2 shrivelled like cooked bacon

Is this normal?

I posted on wizards.com forums and people are saying its just a local climate issue? I don't want to pay $35 for a shrivelled-up ass book. None of my other books are all shriveled up.

At my local, every single PHB2 is shrivelled up. All the other books look normal. Even at the Bookstar, the book was shrivelled. Is that a printing issue or climate?

That's pretty bad moisture damage. If they came like that, the store owner should send them back.

What part of the world do you live in?

Man, I hope they aren't making the outer covers out of spectral wolf hide again.

(That's just a joke folks. No Spectral Wolves were ever harmed in the making of the Player's Handbook II.)

I saw a dozen books like this at my local store. I didn't buy any due to this warpage, but a friend that was with me bought the least affected one.

It looks pretty bad...

I've had that happen to a lot of game books over the years. I've been told it's a result of the books absorbing moisture during shipping. You can fix it by stacking some heavy books on top of it when you're not reading it. Eventually, it will push the moisture out of the pages and they'll act like normal. At least, that is how it has gone in my experience.

In had this problem with my 4e "1s". Now I have the box for the set my FLGS finally got me (order issues early on, i agreed to get it later rather than wait) they have sorted themselves out.
