So, I decided to take a break for a couple sessions from the DM's chair and another player is running a conversion of some 1e or 2e mod for the party. I had to create a 4th level character and thought "hmmm... what would be something really unique to play... Pixie!" Thus began the creation of Twilight Sparkle (my daughter watches a lot of MLP:FIM), Seventh Daughter of the Seventh Regent of the Unseelie Court and member of the Night Stings. This is a very vicious and creepy little fairy. We're talking Tinker Bell meets Pan's Labrynth. Cute, but her mouth opens disturbingly wide to reveal 3 rows of pointy teeth, and has larger than average humanoid oblong-ish eyes with no pupil like an eladrin. Very Uncanny Valley. She rides a fox (who is searching for the mage that murdered it's sister by exploding it with a magic missle, which happens to be the party mage during a prev session) and as a skirmishing warlord, treats the entire party as her barely competent minions. Turned out to be a very fun character. The remains of a caravan comes into town, having been attacked by goblins. One the the caravan drivers is lying in a wagon with several arrows sticking out, babbling on the edge of conciousness about goblins. My fairy flies onto his chest, grabs him by the collar and drags his face up to hers, in her best Batman voice "What do you know about goblins!" She has a 19 Str, and trained in atheletics, so is pretty strong, even for her size, also has a very high Intimidate (took a skill focus to get it higher) so she scares things quite easily, not to mention the necklace of humanoid teeth around her neck. After getting the story out of the driver about goblins, I use my high history check to learn if they might be from a tribe pushed back 100 years ago. I rip an arrow out of the driver, let the fox lick the blood off, and investigate the arrowhead to identify tribal markings, ignoring the yowls of pain. Finally the town guards arrive and I flippantly toss the arrow back onto the driver. We go with the gaurds and they want us to get a message to some location using some magical compass to find the way. This will alert reinforcements to help deal with this new goblin threat. As the other party members discuss price in gold, I fly up to the face of the lead guard pull a contract from my satchel and enlarge it to normal size. "My fee is one healthy child", I say matter of factly. I explain to the party that 1000 years ago, the Unseelie Court agreed not to abduct any more children from this region as part of a truce, but bartering was still fair game. Reluctantly, and due to his not having a family yet, I secured the rights to the next grand child of himself or his direct siblings. We set off and there was much silliness involving pixie dust to get horses to float up to high ledges they normal couldn't get up, using the goliath as a literal meatshield for providing cover, and duing a retreat, the same goliath was holding the line against 5 trolls as the rest of the party escaped. I beaned her in the head with my bag of pixie dust so she could fly away as a free action and on her turn dbl move to finish the retreat. "Think happy thoughts!" "Using your tiny bones as toothpicks..." "That's the spirit!" Good times!
