PBP wouldn't really work for me because it is the social aspect I love. It's currently unsafe to drive in my town - the roads are absolutely munted, so even if we could get in touch we wouldn't get together. Online doesn't work either. It was announced yesterday that the central business district is likely to be cordoned off and inaccessable for months. It's too dangerous to enter and they need to do a heap of demolition first.However, I'm very thankful to be alive - many didn't make it, and in a small city like mine everybody will know somebody who died. I'm also very thankful my family is safe - the 4 hours where I did not know if my two year old was alive or dead was fairly horrific. My wife and baby are also fine (which I knew straight away as she was able to get hold of me) but my wife is covered in bruises from flying wine bottles - she just happened to be in the most dangerous part of the supermarket.Anyhow, thanks for the nice thoughts. All is as good as it can be here and everybody in the city who is able is getting involved in the cleanup and in helping others.</blockquote>
