Hi all,
I'm wondering if I could get some feedback please on my campaign world, specifically in my outer plane cosmology ...
I've devised my outer plane structure to be a series of overlapping or touching planes that shift in and out of conjunction with the Material Plane. Really, what I'm looking for in feel and scope is that of Moorcock's Eternal Champion Series, and the Corum books in particular. In that series, it talks about Corum's race being able to step between worlds, or gaze upon other planes with great effort.
I know that the Eberron campaign sourcebooks talks about planes shifting in an out of focus on a mysterious schedule, to different effects. I'm looking to do something like this, but on a more predictable basis, rather than having it random and story-driven. I particularly like the idea that some planes are harder to reach than others, and some lie on the fringes of reality, easily touched.
Obviously, 3.X D&D makes certain assumptions about conjunctive planes, such as the Plane of Shadow, the Ethereal and Astral Planes, and to a lesser degree the Positive and Negative Energy Planes.
Has anyone developed anything like this for their own homebrew worlds? I'd love some feedback or ideas to solidify what I'm trying to accomplish...
Thanks!
