Mystery roar from outer space detected

I never understood Dr. Who or the appeal of Star Trek. I may have to give up my geek badge. :-S

I gave up on Trek shortly after Enterprise ended. I'm seriously ticked about the whole reboot movie thing. Time travel has ruined Trek for me.

I'm axiously awaiting Stargate SG1 Season 1 to be released on BluRay.

Neither did I until I started watching the new Doctor. I think they embraced the weirdness a bit more, and it worked.

I almost gave up on Doctor Who upon hearing that Eccleston would be leaving the show. When I heard that Tennant signed on, I knew I was hooked. HIs portrayal of Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter had me addicted to him. I really love his acting style.

He's moving on from Doctor Who now, so I'm going to have to see how the new actor handles the role of the doctor before deciding whether or not s/he makes the show worhtwhile.

I'm not big doc either, especially this new one, but some of the old episodes are really fun. Especially during 3rd doc, who's prolly my favourite of the ones I've seen so far.

Trek however. How can you not be a fan?! Go to your local Geek-center immediatily and hand over your member's badge and phaser!

Well, at least you had a geek badge to give up. Some of us can only aspire to be a geek, but we are never truly accepted by the geeks, and yet are shunned by the "mundanes" :p

Wow... I'm just flashing back to my school years where being called a geek was one of the worst insults there was. And here I am listening to a bunch of people argue over who's the most geekiest and lamenting that they aren't geeky enough. It gives me the warm fuzzies. :)

Whatever made the roar, these stars are fleeing from it!
"Renegade" Stars Tearing Across Universe, Hubble Shows

[sblock=Renegade Stars]

Ripples in cosmic gas that resemble speedboat wakes have revealed a new population of young, renegade stars barreling through the universe at more than 112,000 miles (180,250 kilometers) an hour.

The stars appear to be just a few million years old and a few times larger than the sun.

As they careen through the cosmos, the stars' winds slam against nearby gas, creating enormous bow shocks billions or even a trillion miles wide.

So far astronomers have found 14 of these rogue stars using images from the Hubble Space Telescope.[/sblock] I wish they named them better. Nemesis, Remina and Wormwood sound much cooler than "The Flying Wedge," "The Whirlygig," and "The Cropduster."
