Name for a prestige class just popped into my head.

Who here would like to play a Kleptomancer? The word just popped into my head while reading Onna Daigaku, in which Japanese women were berated as being naturally inclined to all kinds of vices, including "kleptomaniacy."

Since the '-mancy' suffix technically denotes a method of divination, I would love to see a kleptomancer be someone who can foretell future events based on the contents of someone else's pocket.

Since when? Necromancy, Pyromancy, Chronomancy, Cybermancy, Cryomancy, need I say more?

Actually, this is correct. Necromancy was magic that fortold the future by speaking with the dead, pyromancy could look for signs in ashes.

But to the topic at hand, yeah kleptomancer is hella-cool. Either a wizard/rogue type or a mage that specializes in stealing magic from the minds of other wizards.

Divination by speaking with the spirits of the dead, divination by firegazing, and three words created by people who didn't know what '-mancy' really meant.

Nothing like a good Mr. T reference to brighten anyone's day! :)

Bah, I was just pointing out that as far as the gaming world is concerned, divination is divination, -mancy has nothing to do with it. I guess my point is lost in people who seem to think they know more than me  :D
