Name for a ranged martial character type

I am looking for a good name for a general ranged weapon specialist. This would be for any missile weapons not just bows. XP awarded for a good one that I end up using.

Cranequinier (French 18th century mounted crossbowmen)
Arbalest (name of an early firearm as well as it's user; also in modern usage, someone who uses a crossbow)
Also, the Yeoman, who was traditionally trained in the dagger and bow (and the sword, but...)

"Gods-eye"- the idea being that he makes shots that only one with the help of the gods could make. If you wish, substitute the name of your campaign's primary war-deity for "God."

Archer if they use bows, the name has had to have come from somewhere.

Hunter and variations of it was often used in armies to describe light skirmishing infantry, hence jager, grenzer and so forth.
