Name Generators

I always seem to have a problem naming my characters, especially non-human ones. I am currently trying to come up with a good Dwarven name. I do remember a thread a while back in which several people mentioned name generators, I was wondering if some one could point me in the right direction to find one.

I've got I think about four name generator freeware packages, and a number of "manual" methods, but in a pinch, the best solution is just to check out http://www.kabalarians.com.

I use jhnamegen gold availble from rpgnow - it runs in toolbar mode, makes it really cool for in game use.

I'd like to second JH NameGen Gold , but I wrote it. If you'd like to see how good the names are, check out the free version that's available at jhanson.com. The free version won't do toolbar mode, or a few other things though...

PS - I'm currently running a deal where if you have any old AD&D/D&D/d20 books that you'd like to get rid of, I may accept them in trade for a registered copy of JH NameGen Gold. Check out this thread. Nobody has taken me up on this offer yet, but I thought I'd share it just in case.

1) Your rules wizard does not work. I enter information into it and I can't get the rulesets I've created to work.

1. Please email me a copy of the rule file you created. I'll take a look at it and see what the issue is. I'm guessing that it's in the final step where you have to specify what the output should look like. The wizard worked fine in testing, but maybe my instructions on the last step were unclear. Email me at webmaster AT jhanson DOT com.

2. The icon saying BETA was an oversight on my part. The version that you received is the full version, but I forgot to rename that particular icon. I actually sent a message to the product mailing list at RPGNow about this a while back, but you must have selected the "do not mail me" option so you didn't receive it. It has been fixed in the installer that's out there now.
