Name this Monster

Hey all, I'm trying to dig out a D&D monster but I can't for the life of me remember which edition or book it came from.

From what I remember of it, it's basically a coiling swarm of arms holding weapons: scimitars, spears, and so on. I think the entry was illustrated by Wayne Reynolds, but I could be wrong.

Any ideas?

Are you thinking of the hundred-handed ones/hecatonacheires (sp?)?

From the 3e Epic Level Handbook, also from a pre-3e-D&D-not-AD&D IIRC; it also appears in the 4e Plane Above book.
