[QUOTE="AuroraGyps, post: 2062437, member: 1166"] You are so lucky... I love English Mastiffs and hope to have one someday. IF you've never had one before, beware of the drool... they can get it higher on walls than they are.;) As for names, I'd think about your favorite books and RPG campaigns and make a list of female names (or male names that could be any gender). Just run through the list and see which fits her personality, her looks, or just feels right. When we got our can, we knes we were going to use a name from the Amber books and DRPG. We just thought and thought and decided to use the name of an NPC, Lady Zeal, only because the cat was a gray tiger stripe and the NPC wore a harlequin outfit of black & white. Turns out our Lady Zeal does EVERYTHING with lots of zeal, so it worked out great. My parents named their pit bull Max... of which drives me crazy because fish, mice, and poodles can be called Max, but a pit bull need a coold name, like Moose (one of my favs) or Brutus... something not tough, but not scary tough. Luckily, he now has a nickname that totally fits him, Doofus (what the woman adopting him out from the pit bull rescue kennel) Maximus, which translates to humungous (sp?) doof, sonsidering he's afraid of water, mostly lays on the couch, and loves to give kisses more than anything. Our first dogs were bull mastiff/bull terriers (they looked like bull mastiff). The female was Samantha, Sam for short, but was only about three, so I didn't name her. Her son, was named Bull and not because he was a big, tough bullish dog. In fact, Sam was tougher than Bull. However Bull's nickname was Bulldozer, because he pushed doors open, many of which still do not shut right, and used to sit under our table at dinner and "bulldoze" my chair back from the table. I'd just be sitting there, moving backwards, with a fork in my hand.:) Our 3rd dog was a Rottie name Zeus. The parents wanted to name him Max, but I managed to change their mind. Raistlin, Tanis, and many other DL names were turned down, untill we named him after one of the 2 dobermans on Magnum PI. Waiting a bit might not be so bad anyway, cause you can get to know her personality a bit better.
