Narnia True 20

Looking forward to reading your file. Just got back from the movie and now, more than ever, I think I just saw a really good scenario for Grimm :).

Sure you may put the link in your sig but just so you all know, I plan on creating a website to host my Narnia supplement, and the Castles and Crusades version is not far away (2 weeks most, lots easier to work with the mechanics in CnC).

Also I plan on changing some of the bits in the CnC version of the document.

I plan on leaving the conviction mechanic completely out. Part of the charm of BD&D was that there was no "save my butt" mechanic. Of course that lead to a lot of dying, but it also lead to a lot of innovation in taking out monsters we knew we could not handle.

Plus it puts the ideas of temptation, recovery, and healing into a story mechanic, rather than a rules mechanic. And honestly rather than debating about temptation and the like I would rather just play the game, and have the story of the game, and the characters in those games experience that as a part of the story, rather than part of the mechanics of the game used to tell the story.

I intend to have 5 classes: Weird Kid, Smart Kid, Rich Kid, Strong Kid, and Normal Kid. These were taken from the NPC classes, and will as the True 20 roles, only extend to 6th level whereupon the players will have to pick an a regular CnC class.

Also I hope to provide a table with some concrete guidelines for doling out XP for non combat situations (or finding ways around combat) because lets face it, children will most likely get the snot beaten out of them in most combat situations. At least for the first few levels.

There are some more changes, but I dont' remember them at the moment. But I do know this now. I will most likely not provide any more support to the True20 version of the document. I prefer, from a rules stand point, the Castles and Crusades rules and so any further material I create (and I have some plans for more stuff) will be derived from the CnC rules.
