Law ALWAYS gets in the way of me exercising my will at the expense of others, and overt active evil ALWAYS subverts some law. Just as Pemerton saw an issue with chaotic good in his OP, so the conflict always exists with LE as well. The more evil you are the less inherently lawful you must perforce be, just as being more good (in the way Gygax defines it) will inevitably require you to assume a more lawful stance towards at least some other people.</blockquote>
