Natural Enemies working together?

I need to come up with some legitimate reasons why two sworn natural enemies would even consider working together... I run a Half-Orc Cleric of Gruumsh and we have a new PC joining that is a Dwarf.... Both are evil...

Now, can anyone help me think of a reason why Gruglak, Mighty Servant of Gruumsh won't try to shish-ka-bob Thorik (a Frenzied Berzerker) with his spear?? The Dwarf's player is new to 3E and I don't want to turn him off.

While the scenario of members of races that "traditionally" hate each other working together is not one that is very uncommon (just look at Drizzt), the fact that both are evil PCs is going to make that difficult.

The only thing I can think of is if it's a "work together or die" scenario. Lots of personal distate tends to drop off rather quickly when you need someone's help to survive. The question then becomes how to make them work together even after the immediate danger is gone (in this regard LE is probably better than CE, since the latter think nothing of betraying others, though they aren't dumb enough to do so when it'd get them killed).

Maybe the half orc would have the mindset that he's using the dwarf as a pawn, and that Gruumsh would enjoy the idea that the dwarf is working for one of his priests.

As long as the dwarf works towards the cleric's goals, why not keep him around, particularly if he's an effective fighter. After all, you can always kill him later when he's outlived his usefulness...

I was thinking of something along those lines...

Gruglak: "The only reason the Mighty Gruumsh allows me to heal you little Dwarf, is to see you writhe in pain once again...!" (insert evil growl/laugh)
