The first sounds we heard at a distance were of battle and nasally high-pitched voices (the DM did a great job) yelling things like, "Don't fire! We've got gifts!" and "Protect the Big Guy!" We rescued Santa and a few of his elves from a wandering orc patrol, but he had been badly injured and needed a medic's attention. We took on a few of his deliveries to a series of three locale-scenarios: some poor shmuck who had been polymorphed into a troll, a storm giant's castle, and an obnoxious witch's hut. In the latter's case, it looked like she had kidnapped two children and was ready to eat them, but they were just cooking gingerbread.Santa provided a bit of magical time overlap of some sort (he didn't share the details), so our tasks didn't take nearly as much time as we thought. Once we returned, he thanked us with some nifty gifts of our own before he took off.We had a blast. We sorta knew we weren't really ever in serious danger, even though it looked that way once or twice. Just a romp in the snow.</blockquote>
