The whole Rapture thing is something that is sometimes mentioned in the Catholic doctrine, but not as obvious as popularly described, nor given that much importance. That would be a more Protestant doctrine, to my understanding, though it varies from group to group.Well, the series made it very clear from the first frame that it was based on a Catholic paradigm, and at least they have been quite constant at this. Trust me, I'm Jewish (a convert, actually, from Catholicism, which is why I can identify the sources and understand where it's coming from), so I spend most of the episode going, "This makes no sense based on X or Y," or "Are there synagogues in this world?" in my mind, but I take it for what it is, expect to be dissapointed, and then feel mildly entertained at the end of the episode. Yeah, that was kinda cool, though I agree, a little too obvious. Then again, the series also made it very clear they were going for the obvious, the blatant and the sensationalistic when you learn from the start that you are dealing with bona-fide, card-carrying, cult-forming, dark ritual-performing, kill-a-12-year-old-child-to-prove-how-evil-we-truly-are Satanists. With that in place, I fully expected any demon to show up to have a typical ram-headed profile, and was not dissapointed.We'll see how tomorrow's episode goes.</blockquote>
