Regarding Temple of Kubla Khan, as a limited edition product, we will be able to order the mod online on your website, but it won't be released to retailers, correct?

Sorry to hi jack the thread but i gotta ask John this question. Are you a Russian in Moscow or are you a foreigner? If you are Russian how did you get to game? I have some good Russian friends who never saw D&D over there, so am just wondering.

I'm a good ole American :).

D&D has a presence over here, but it's pretty small. There are game shops which sell the books, though. THey havne't been translated, and are sold in English, and that's definitely a barrier.

CCGs and miniatures do much better.

It would be easy to live in Russia and not know the game existed. The few game shops there are are located in incredibally difficult-to-find locations. You've got to go out and look for it. I honestly don't know how Russian kids normally get hooked--best guess it it's mostly word-of-mouth.

My gaming group is mostly foreigners (all sorts, including 2 South Americans) and some English speaking RUssians.

Oh, fantasy novels, including D&D lines like Dragonlance, sell very well and appear in mainstream bookshops. Same for fantasy CRPGs, including D&D label ones like Baldurs Gate.[/hijack]

resume ontopic conversation :)

Thanks. The Russians I know lived up in the Murmansk region and occassionally visited Moscow and St.Petersburg. Several of them are from Apatity, a pretty small mining type town.

The Temple of Kubla Khan willony be available through our website and at conventions. The only way a retailer will be able to get it is to order directly from us but we are not soliciting it so a consumer will likely have to ask for it.

Hijacked, dang, I wish we could find someone to translate someof our stuff into russian. That would be coooooool. Tak Zvany

If you are serious I may be able to hook you up with someone here in the states. Plus the one i am thinking of is a gamer. Should i talk him into going to Kubla con with me?

Sure, why not? I don't know what the market is like in russia, nor what import duties are but it might be worth looking into1

If things don't work out I'd consider tossing my hat in, either to do it myself or to find Russian gamers who might try. I would definitely try to find a native Russian who plays D&D to do it, or at least edit it.

BTW, the best Russian RPG community website I know of is www.rolemancer.ru. And, today they have an article about Castle Zagyg. let me know if you want me to tell you what it says.
