He gains damage reduction 1/bludgeoning. Each level thereafter, his damage reduction improves by 1, until by 10th level, he has damage reduction 10/bludgeoning.

Hunger (Ex): The gelatinous adept’s hardiness and vitality come at a cost. Beginning at 1st level, the adept must eat twice as much food as a creature of its type normally eats. Each time the adept’s Oozy Resilience ability improves (see below), his hunger grows, increasing the volume of food required to sustain his body by 1. Therefore at 4th level, the apostle need 3x the normal amount. At 7th level, he needs 4x, and finally at 10th level, he requires 5x the ordinary amount of food a creature of his type requires.

Oozy Resilience (Ex): At 1st level, a gelatinous apostle’s process of transformation has already begun. His flesh becomes soft, but resistant to trauma. A 1st-level gelatinous apostle’s Constitution score increases by 1, but his Dexterity score drops by 1 (to a minimum of 3. He also gains Acid Resistance 5.

When an apostle reaches 4th level, his Constitution improves by another point, and his Acid resistance increases to 10.

At 7th level, an apostle’s Constitution increases by 2 more, for a total increase of +4, while his Dexterity is reduced by 1 (to a minimum of 3). His Acid Resistance improves to 20.

At 10th level, an apostle’s Constitution score increases 2 more points (total increase of +6) and his Dexterity is reduced by 1 (total reduction of 3, to a minimum of 3). He also becomes immune to Acid damage.

Slime (Ex): A gelatinous apostle secretes a digestive enzyme from its skin. The apostle’s slimy skin grants him a +1 circumstance bonus on escape artist checks per class level.

Slime Empathy (Ex): Oozes find it difficult to attack a gelatinous apostle. An ooze must succeed at a Will save (DC 5 + apostle level + charisma modifier) to initiate an attack on the apostle. If the apostle attacks the ooze, the ooze is then free to attack the apostle.

Natural Attack (Ex): Beginning at 2nd level, a Gelatinous Apostle gains a slam attack that deals bludgeoning damage equal to a club sized for the character (1d4 for Small adepts, 1d6 for Medium adepts, and 1d8 for Large adepts), plus 1 ½ times his Strength modifier. The gelatinous adept is proficient with his slam attack.

Gelatinous Hardiness (Ex): When an apostle reaches 2nd level, his internal essence begins to rapidly alter his internal organs. He gains a +2 bonus on saving throws against poison, sleep effects, paralysis, polymorph effects, and stunning.

At 5th level, a gelatinous apostle’s bonus on saving throws against the attack forms listed above increase to +4. At 8th level, the save bonus increases to +6.

Fortification (Ex): At 3rd level and higher, a gelatinous apostle has a resistance to attacks that affect other living creatures. When a critical hit or sneak attack is scored on the character, there is a 25% chance that the critical hit or sneak attack is negated and the damage is instead rolled normally.

When an adept reaches 6th level, this ability improves, increasing the chance of negating a critical or sneak attack to 50%. At 9th level, a gelatinous apostle has a 75% chance to negate a critical hit or sneak attack.

Acidic Slime (Su): As a swift action, a gelatinous apostle of 3rd level or higher can expend spell energy to cause his slime to become acidic for 1 round, plus 1 round per level of the spell expended. When he does so, the apostle deals 1d4 points of acid damage when he uses his slam attack. At 5th level, the apostle’s acid damage increases to 1d6. At 9th level, a gelatinous apostle deals 2d4 points of acid damage when striking with his slam attack.

An apostle who remains in contact with an organic or metallic object or creature deals acid damage equal to 5 + his class level + his Constitution modifier per full round of contact with the apostle’s skin.

A gelatinous apostle’s slime does not cause damage to stone objects or cannot harm creatures made primarily of stone. Gelatinous apostles are immune to the effects of their own slime, and the slime of other gelatinous apostles. An apostle’s gear is not subject to damage from his acidic slime.

Ooze Senses (Ex): Beginning at 4th level, a gelatinous apostle gains blindsense 10ft. At 6th level, his blindsense improves to 30 feet. At 8th level, an adept’s senses grow even more acute, and he gains blindsight 10ft. A 10th-level gelatinous adepts senses are so fine that his blindsight extends to 30 feet (superseding his blindsight).

A gelatinous adept’s blindsense relies on having his skin exposed to the air, thus working only when he is unarmoured.

Mutable Form (Su): At 5th level, a gelatinous apostle gains the ability to change his appearance at will, as if using the alter self spell. He may do this only when in his normal form.

Slimy Doom (Ex): A 6th-level gelatinous apostle who scores a critical hit with his slam attack may, as a swift action, expend spell energy to expel a burst of digestive enzymes. When he does so, the opponent’s armour and clothing dissolves and become useless. The target of an apostle’s Dissolve attack may attempt a Reflex save (DC 11 + level of the spell expended + Con modifier) to negate the attack.

Ooze Metabolism (Ex): When a gelatinous apostle reaches 7th level, his transformation approaches completion. He no longer needs to sleep, and is immune to sleep effects and poison.

As a side effect of this change, the apostle no longer gains any benefit from potions he ingests.

Acid Breath (Su): A 9th level gelatinous apostle can channel stored spell energy into a powerful acidic breath weapon. You can lose any prepared spell or spell slot in order to generate a 60-foot line of acid beginning in your square. The line deals 1d8 points of acid damage per level of the spell slot to all targets in the area (Reflex half); any creature damaged by this effect is nauseated for 1 round. A Fortitude save negates the nauseating effect. The saving throw against acid breath is equal to 10 + the level of the spell + your Con modifier.

Gelatinous Apotheosis (Ex): At 10th level, a Gelatinous Apostle completes his transformation. He resembles a smooth and melted version of himself. His type changes to ooze, which brings about the following alterations to his basic nature:

-Unlike other oozes, a Gelatinous Apostle has no special immunity to mind-affecting effects. He is essentially a humanoid with an extremely supple, flexible body.

-He gains immunity to poison, paralysis, polymorph, sleep effects, stunning, extra damage from sneak attacks.

-He is no longer subject to critical hits or flanking.

-He no longer takes ability score penalties for aging and cannot be magically aged. Any penalties he may have already incurred, however, remain in place. Bonuses still accrue, and the apostle still dies of old age when his time is up.

Gelatinous Renewal (Su): At 10th level, a gelatinous apostle’s body continually heals damage inflicted to it gaining fast healing 2. The apostle may spend a full-round action to increase the rate of healing to 10 by succeeding on a Concentration check (DC =total damage dealt).

Feat:

Initiate of the Ooze

You have learned the dread secrets of the god of oozes, slimes, jellies, and outcasts.

Prerequisites: Divine caster level 3rd, Knowledge (Dungeoneering) 3 ranks

Benefit: You can command or rebuke oozes as an evil cleric commands or rebukes undead.
