For a guy whose favorite class is Paladin, the contrast between it and Defenders of the Faith is STRIKING! For one, Defenders of the Faith is pretty bereft of any Prestige Classes that're very interesting. I tend to flip through it wondering if there're any Prestige Classes that're worth taking. Just the reverse with the Quintessential Paladin. Can't decide which Prestige Class to take, there're so many that I like!  I also like how they've made the Paladin more interesting without overpowering it. For instance, the part about Faith Points. I like being able to trade in Cure Disease attempts, as well as Turn Undead attempts for other affects. It's a great way to give the class more flexibility without making it overpowering. I like the Intervention Dice, for one. It reminds me of the Drama Points from Unisystem (Like Buffy, the Vampire Slayer RPG). Makes it more cinematic, for when the character HAS to succeed at something. The Combat Prayers are also great. Gives the Paladin a different style of spellcasting that what other classes get.  Another thing I really liked was how the Paladin can develop his Detect Evil sense. Whether it be to discern lies, use it to fight evil opponents who're invisible, or maintain a sort of evil radar while you're sleeping. A character I'm planning to play, for instance, will be taking the Learned and Track Feats at 1st level (Learned is from Quintessential Paladin. I'll be using it to make Hide, Move Silently, and Wilderness Lore class skills). The Tracking ability for Detect Evil will most definitely come in handy.  The riding tricks introduced are also very nice. Makes those mounted feats a lot more appealing, now.  One of my favorite parts would also definitely have to be the part where they go into detail about the Paladin's Code, give you tips on how to construct your own, providing sample tenets with which to construct that code, as well as give you sample Codes. THAT'S what Defenders of the Faith should've had, but no such luck.  I haven't even read the whole book yet, so Im not exactly sure what Bond Companions are all about, which I take are replacements for the Paladin's Mount, with a weapon in its place. Nor have I gone over the whole Oath and Vow section. But from what I HAVE read, this book is SO much better than Defenders of the Faith!  So are ALL of the Quintessential books this good? And if so, anyone got any suggestions on what I should buy next?  Which brings me back to my original question. That's a pretty nice character sheet at the end of the book, and I wouldn't mind printing it out. Anyone got a link as to where I can find it online so I can download it and print it out?
