Need help ASAP - Formatting a Character Sheet

Rechan

Adventurer
I need some help. I'm trying to make pregens for a game tomorrow, and unsatisfied with a lot of the character sheets out there, I wanted to make my own Bare Bones sheet (also one that wouldn't guzzle my printer ink).

Problem is that I suck at formatting a Word document. The issue is arranging the tables neatly on the page and having enough space; the margins and settings are fighting me. I'm tearing my hair out here.

So if any kind soul can help me put this character sheet template in order, I'd appreciate it.

Rechan I do something similar in work by putting tables inside of text boxes; that way you can move the text boxes (and change their margins) to exactly how you like without Word throwing them halfway across the screen.

I'm visiting family in San Diego and was supposed to join my sister and 6 month old nephew for "family swim", but he fell asleep so i can jump on Word and fiddle with what you've got

oK, I am looking over it in OpenOffice and it's pretty jumbled. What should be on page 1 and what should be on page 2?

Quickleaf that would be greatly appreciated, so much.

Aaand it doesn't surprise me that it's jumbled. Augh.

Page 1:
Character/Player Name, Race, Class
Ability Scores
Hit Points
Defenses
Init/Speed/Vision/etc
Skills
Equipment
Feats & Racial Traits
Character Description/Personality

Page 2 - All combat related material/powers
Base Attack table
Tables for powers.

I'm operating off a notebook which was just repaired so I haven't re-installed Word yet, using OpenOffice instead. Hopefully the formatting carries over smoothly. If you have a problem with the formatting, I can send you the ODT version. The cool thing about OpenOffice is that this sort of page layout is easier to do.

@Quickleaf I notice one problem. The skill area: Thievery has been cut off. I tried to shuffle it around but it seems lost.

What you might do is get rid of the "Class Features" box. This is for pregens, and so I've factored in all the math or tucked it all inside various powers (since these are Essentials classes).

My intent was to have all powers on the back page (printing the sheet two sided). So if you want to take advantage of that, to free up some room on the first page, you can.

Beyond the thievery hiccup, it looks Really Good, and I appreciate it greatly. :D

You're welcome! How about now?

Thievery is still gone. I donno what's up with that.

It seems like the Equipment box is overlapping it, but when I move that there's nothing there.

I'm going to download open office myself - any time I try to adjust anything, Word pitches a fit.

ALso perhaps it'd be easier if we traded emails. :)

It angers me that I can't give you XP for this, Quickleaf; it's perfect. Thanks a bunch! Saved me a lot of frustration.

Eh, we were both ENWorlders before XP was invented (er, I mean implemented), that's what ENWorlders do. Happy to help :)

Post how the pregen sheets work for your game?
