I like that this didn't go overboard with the options like homebrew occasionally does. Most of it seems toned down. Schooled in Faith -- Bards can already use an instrument as a focus. You might let them use a holy symbol as a focus in place of the instrument. I think the intent was the bard can use the instrument as a holy symbol. Granting the ability to learn domain spells seems fine. I don't see the need to give armor here, thematically just because a cleric wears heavier armor, or giving religion. It's not something required of or free to clerics either. ;) A wider spell list selection and divine inspiration can already be fairly decent depending on the domain list selected. What you might consider is allowing the bard to use either CHA or WIS as the spell casting stat. Divine Inspiration -- This seems a bit awkward. I would avoid additional higher bonuses and would just keep it simple: anytime someone rolls the bardic inspiration die they also heal an equal amount. Alternatively they could gain the amount rolled as temp hp. Channel Divinity -- Seems like a reasonable 6th level ability. Voice of the Gods -- This has a bit of the evil cult brainwashing vibe going on. I don't really have an alternative but my first thought is go with something more like spending a bardic inspiration die to cast enthrall without using a spell slot. Add the roll of the die to the save DC of the spell and any performance, persuasion, or sense motive checks made in relation to the audience during the duration of the spell. Just a thought. That's more convincing and less coercion, and a lot less powerful. On that note...... I would also tend to fall back on other bards. Bards are easy to build towards a concept. Take suitable proficiencies (religion for sure), the acolyte background, ritual casting: cleric feat, and spend secrets on cleric spells. Bards inspire through epic tales. It's pretty easy to associate those from a specific faith, and playing hymns is suitable. For example: Banjo, Variant Human Bard. Background: Acolyte (insight, religion; shelter of the faithful) Class skills: history, persuasion, arcana Bonus skill: performance Bonus feat: ritual casting (cleric) 10 STR 13 DEX 13 CON 10 INT 13 WIS 16 CHA The ritual casting feat impacted point buy but it obviously doesn't need to go that way or take ritual caster right away. This spread allows for 2 ASI's to CHA and encourages a +1 ability top up feat. Resilient CON, moderately armored, and observant if you want. Cleric Rituals: ceremony, purify food and drink Bard Cantrips: light, prestidigitation Bard Spells: detect magic, identify, healing word, sleep It's not remotely optimized but it gives an idea of building towards the flavor. Look at it for flavor and build how you want it.
