Need help finding and choosing a prestige

My DM is running a game where we're taking part in the war between the Greeks and Romans. We're the Greeks, and obviously the gods are real. There isn't any arcane magic in the game, and you can only choose character classes based on what god(s) or goddess(es) favor you. I had the option to choose cleric, fighter, paladin, ranger, rogue, or archivist. I'm still confused as to why being favored by Hades gave me access to archivist.

My favorite class has always been the necromancer. Besides that, I just like being an arcane spellcaster, and I love making magical artifacts. I also enjoy playing stealth-fighter classes, like the scout and ninja, but I don't enjoy straight up rogues. I ended up choosing archivist because screw it. I didn't like my options much. What prestige class would be good to go into?

hey, i'm from greece  let's see, you can become a divine oracle, something like pythia, but i would start as a cleric for that.or you can try to convince your dm to let you be a diviner and then divine oracle

Not so much into the divine oracle thing, although I could go into that prestige class in two levels if I wanted. Divination's not my thing, and I'm a servant of Hades, so something death or greed aspected would fit better.

Pfft. If there's only restrictions on character class, give the character an acceptable background with the egpytians and become a walker of the wastes, from Sandstorm. The walkers could be a cult, and it is possible to have a divine lich in D&D(they play very well, actually). Being such an undead could also be passed off as being a blessing(or curse) from being favored by Hades.

The way I look at it, the character could be a Greek who fostered a family in Egypt while in travels, and the war puts him and perhaps the whole world in jeopardy. His joining with Hades, and the war as a whole, could simply be to stop both armies from the outside-and perhaps the inside, also.

I like the idea, myself.

Have you checked black flame zealot ? i think he is at the complete divine or champion. He is a prestige that increases the abilities of rogue and cleric. He is a stealthy (said you liked those) non good (can be combined with hades as a deity) and so you might actually like it.

Now that you've suggested it, I would if I could, but I can't. We started playing three sessions ago and my character's already has a background as a middle-class funerist from Athens who was drafted into the war. He's never been to Egypt.

For one thing, Hades is a greedy guy who hordes souls. Becoming a lich and thus keeping my soul from his grasp wouldn't sit too well with him, and I don't know how I could justify becoming a Walker in the Wastes now.

It is a cool idea.

Not a bad idea, the flavor of the class fits well. I'd have to take five levels in ranger or rogue to meet the skill requirements, though. Build ideas?

The spellwarp sniper is just a lame, weak prestige. What caster in his right mind would take five levels in a prestige just so he can alter area spells into rays and deal a little extra damage?

When the bonus dice applies to any ability that deals dice in damage, like, touch of idiocy, and you use metamagics to maximize all of the extra dice and empower it, so it's about 18+ points of Int, Wis, and Cha damage to an unworthy spellcaster who crossed the wrong spellwarp sniper, it makes much more sense.

You should actually read the text before you post. The Spellwarp ability only applies to area of effect spells that are a level equal to or less than your Spellwarp Sniper class level. Furthermore, the text for Sudden Raystrike stipulates that the extra damage is hit point damage, and if the spell doesn't do hit point damage, the extra damage doesn't get added.

omg get raped hahaha

Mod edit: Folks, the term "rape" denotes an unacceptable act of sexual violence, and not a laughing matter. While the word is not forbidden, the suggestion that someone ought to have it happen to them, even in jest, is not acceptable on EN World.
