I'm starting play with a character who will have the equivilant of a 13th level paladin's mount. I thought I saw alternative options for a paladin's mount somewhere, but I can't seem to find any kind of list anywhere.
The only things I have found are the following...
Is it simply up to the DM and player to come up with a list of possible alternative mounts, or does anyone know of any kind of list I can use to guide me. Even if it is the former, does anyone have suggestions or experience with doings something like this. Thanks in advance.

- The BoED has a feat (Celestial Mount) that make your mount a celestial creature, but it doesn't list new kinds of mounts (like the exalted animal companions).
- In the actual text describing the special mount feature of the paladin class it says that other mounts may be appropriate, but once again doesn't give any kind of list.
