I'm playing a variant Ranger myself (not Monte) and the three classes/pclasses I looked at when I decided to start varying my experience were these: Deepwood Sniper (you already have that covered) Master of the Hunt (from The Quintessential Elf) Sharpshooter (from AEG's "WAR" book) Master of the Hunt is a 5-level prestige class that will get your character some quasi-mystical abilities like the ability to summon phantom hounds and an absurdly rapid movement rate -- off the top of my head I don't remember the numbers, but IIRC it would allow the ranger to cover over 400 miles a day overland on foot, and take up to three other characters plus his entire hunting pack with him. Sharpshooter is a 10-level prestige class that mostly concerns itself with improving the character's effectiveness as an archer. Some of the class abilities, in combination with trick shots from The Quintessential Elf and a feat or two, can be quite deadly. What was it I used recently? Called Shot(feat), Twin Shot(trick) and Eagle Eye(Sharpshooter class ability) combined as a full attack action, allowed me to do 31 points of damage with a single longbow attack. Each arrow does 1d8(base) +3(magic bow+1, mighty+2). Called Shot allows you to subtract any number from your attack roll (up to your BAB) and add it to damage (I took a -10 penalty for +10 damage) and Twin Shot lets you fire two arrows as a single attack: 2d8+16. That particular stunt may have a higher cheese/munchkin content than you'd like, but it's easily avoided: don't take the Called Shot feat or learn the Twin Shot trick.
