The robot "shell" would be a medium sized construct? what would the mutant inside be abberation or monstrous humanoid??

Well, monstrous humanoids are humanoids, described as "[having] two arms, two legs, and one head, or a humanlike torso, arms, and head." IIRC, the actual creatures inside the Daleks had degenerated so far from being human that they looked like squishy crabs, so I'd opt for aberration. OTOH, Davros is clearly a monstrous humanoid.

welcome to the boards AmbushBug! :D

i would definately keep the Daleks as constructs, and the creatures inside as aberrations

(i don't remember those episodes that well...if the creatures inside the Daleks were exposed, didn't they die? if that's true, there's no need to categorize them, really. i'd just give them all of the benefits of being a construct and leave it at that)

I very much agree with what he said. There is no sense in complicating the dalek writeups when there is no need unless you want to modify the creature

the only problem I am having a hard time overcoming is this, the shell provides armor for the mutant inside.. now should I just have it as the Construct hp's is the "armor rating" of the dalek and once that is gone all damage is done to the mutant?

you could do that...

when all of the armor's hp are gone (down to zero), the dalek is shut down, then any more damage is dealt to the mutant (giving it 10 hp; when it reaches -10, the mutant is dead)

or something like that :)

I'd actually use the Mecha Crusade rules. Seriously - design the squishy Dalek mutant, and then treat the shells as (barely) Large mechs that enhance the creamy mutant center. That way you could also switch out mech components to represent the different models of Dalek seen over the years. (For instance, jets to climb up stairs.:D)

Or the four wheel Off-Road Package... :)

Of course, now I have images of Monster Dalek and Tractor Pulls running through my head.

Mmm. Heavy Weapons Dalek...

YOU WILL OBEY! THE DALEKS ARE SUPERIOR BEINGS! YOU WILL SUBMIT TO OUR WILL OR YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED! *Chanting in unison* OBEY! OBEY! OBEY!

WHo can beat villainous dialogue like that? :)

Nothing beats the classic... "EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!"

Although you gotta wonder why Superior Beings couldn't design their mecha shells to handle non-flat surfaces better. :D

I guess the Off-Road Dalek sounds like a valid option now, though.
