Hi there,
I have a little problem with a human shifter in fell troll shape and a balor.
The balor used his vorpal sword with great effect on the fell troll but since a fell troll has 2 heads he still has one left and therefore doesn't drop dead.
Assuming there will be no more critical hits from the balor and the fell troll transformes back to the human shifter before the lost head regrows (takes 3d6 minutes), what happens ?
Does he lose his head in human shape?
Nothing happens since he still has a head ?
He takes extra damage if he transforms back?
By the way, does a fell troll die in spite of regeneration if he loses both heads ?
There is no acid or fire involved so all is just subdual damage. A little hard to rule for me.
