Hey guys I'm looking at running my friends on a mystery campaign. I was reading some things here and other places and got some ideas so far. I'm going to have my guys make a higher level character around 8-10 and also a 1st level follower. The game will start with a hazy dream of partying the night before from accomplishing some grand quest and gaining more fame and fortune to them waking up with poisoned (daggers or something) sticking out of them. Its a strange poison that the local healers will try their best to get them healed. In the mean time some of them remember slight things about the attack but not a lot and if they don't get on the trail of the assassins they will loose them. A friend of theirs says he has a spell that can let them possess/share a body for a limited time with others and use them as puppets to go investigate the attack and they choose to do so and their 1st level followers are their new vessels. Now they will be 1st level whatever and 1 level of what their high level character are (of course they don't know this yet). The low level characters (this will be 3.5) will have really good magic items for their level but they will be up against things a little higher then themselves. Now I know the bad guys will actually be a rival group of heroes who are sick of this group getting all the glory in town and due to the urging/ tainting of a demon try to assassinate the party. Another thing is one of their hosts knows this and set them up so that one character will have blackouts from time to time to give the bad guys some info. So eventually they will have to take down the rival party and destroy/ banish the demon (maybe back in their own bodies then). So what do you think so far? Any help with little plots or ways to drop clues or anything else would be appreciated (2 small daughters take up a lot of my prep time now). Thanks Mel
