If you want a feel for a very weird version of Egyptian myth, try reading Zelazny's Creatures of Light and Darkness. If I were making a fantasy Egypt, that's where I would start.

I'm "NOT" a fan of the Stygia supplement by Mongoose. Most people speak highly of Hamunaptra. I'd stck to that one if I were you.

I don't know much about Egypt outside of Raiders of the Lost Ark and what I remember from high school, but I did make a race of jackal people. They're a warrior race with a knack for seeing through lies and detecting magic traps. It might be up your alley.

Did GURPS ever put out an Ancient Egypt supplement. I've never played GURPS, but I did pick up the Rome and King Arthur supplements, and found them packed full of useful information for any game system. I'd probably pick up other sourcebooks if I found them in my FLGS's used bin.

Yes they did and like most GURPS historical sourcebooks, it was very well done.

I recommend taking a look at the Oxford History of Ancient Egypt as well:
