I settled on Air Age since that was the time that Air power really changed the battlefield. During WWI there were recon missions with some occasional air combat but everything changed after that.
The reason I decided against Diesel Age is that Diesel didn't really change the world. It was used in some vehicles and machinery but not everything. Other fuels were being tested at that time as well. In many ways gasoline made a greater impact.
I couldn't call it the Industrial Age because that would be confusing with the Industrial Revolution.

History Channel had a series on called The Men that Changed America, a couple were on the Industrial Revolution; gasoline was a byproduct of Kerosene production and for the most part a waste material of the time but John Rockefeller saw it's use in the combustion engine, which helped build Standard Oil. If you want plots and ideas for the times, check it out, lots of great stuff.
