The key to my idea is that Chain Dispel has a number of targets equal to caster level. This circumvents the metagame issue of knowing which items are providing the bonuses you want to get rid of. You hit all the key slots and shut down everything. So if you use one to get buffs, one on each ring (prot and freedom), one on boots (haste or fly), one on cloak, one on vest, one on head, one on gloves(dex), one on bracers(archery), one on neck(con/natural), one on bow, and one on quiver you still have 3 to 6 to put on the rest of the party. Given you might not be able to target the rings, neck, or vest depending on how you interpret line of effect / line of sight. Even without being able to hit all slots you still hit enough to make him cry and your npc's cheer. Another trick you can do is to use the changling warshaper reach build. The benefit here is not only that you can get to 40ft reach, but that are also immune to crit. So if your guards are both warshaper and your caster is invis (thus concealment and no precision damage) it shuts down all of his skirmish damage.
