Instead of ruminating about mechanical, in-game solutions, you should realize that this condition has been brought upon your character in an entirely emotional, out-of-game manner.Your DM needs to learn the game better, so he knows how to appropriately challenge all of his players and PCs. He also needs to learn that one-shotting the BBEG can be exactly what the players love to happen once in a while - great fun for everybody but him. Poor him. Next time, his BBEG could just drop an Obscuring Mist and be fine, of course...Arbitrary PC-nerfing is NOT the way to go about learning good DMing!</blockquote>
