need some help with my baddie please

i have an upcoming plotline that involves a very mad wizard who is spending his spare time and considerable fortune on trapping, collecting and dissecting sorcerers.

he is jealous to the point of rage over a sorcerers ability to control "the art" without even being literate. so he has devised a trap...a cave that has an antimagic field where he can trap these sorcerers and put them to sleep until his henchmen can collect them and bring them to him for dissection, embalming and various experiments..

i ahve most evrything planned out, but am having trouble coming up with a convincing way to get sorcerers lured to the cave..... i have a way to deal with their familiars, the prison is detailed well, the henchmen are stat'ed out, the funds and magic items are in place...all but a way to lure sorcerers into this trap...

anybody have an idea?

You need good bait. What if your evil wizard just has one of his hencmen spread a rumor that sorceres that go to this cave encounter some sort of magic item, or something...that increase there spell knowledge. Every sorcerer wants to know more spells.
 



why does it have to be a specific item? It could be as vague as "I heard a rumor that far to the west there rests a cave. In that cave a glittering purple gem the size of a man's fist is said to increase the powers of you blood-mages a hundred fold..." or something similar. Implying that its some unknown artifact should be enough to get your players drooling...
