Need something similar but yet different

AlphaOmega

First Post
Hopefully the subject line draws enough interest to answer this campaign question I have:

OK, I have three races based on animals/monsters and I need a fourth and even fifth that is along similiar lines. Below you'll find a list of some I'll be using but I've hit a roadblock and can't think or find any others. Is there some other famous or slighty well-known race I'm missing here?

Drow = spiders
Skaven/Silithren = rats
Yuan-Ti = snakes

All of these will be slighty modified from the "offical" stats but I like how all are shadowy types. Most people view spiders, rats and snakes in a negative light. I just need more like them if that makes any sense. I'll just "know it" when I find what I need.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

kuo- toa are froglike

Lizardfold- duh

I've always thought of orcs as sort of monkeylike, or at least more primitive than man, a la Planet of the Apes, but with green skin...

There's a half-scorpion race in, I think, Creature Collection which was reproduced in MM2.

Other creatures that could be used as the basis of "icky" races:
- crows
- vultures (both are carrion-eating birds)

You could always go for a new take on werewolves, I supposed. An organized society of shapeshifters could be nasty.

If you've got Monsters of Faerun, think of Aaracockra as vulture humanoids instead of eagle humanoids.

Curse you Dark Sun for making me forever think of aaracockra as scavenging, cowardly evilly aligned cannibals... meh.

Vampires= rats/bats maybe even spiders.
Illithid= brain moles?
Candyman(themovie)= bees
Kobold= scorpions
Hill giants= direwolves
Dragons=kobolds
Wziard/sorcerer=familiar
Galeb Duhr= pet rock?

thanx for the respones

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards something wolf-based. Although the crow/vulture idea has promise.

Thanks for the respones as I shamlessly bump this ;)
