I need some alternative “vague” ways to refer to the players in my group for an ancient text they are going to get some information from - a group of heroes like the PCs will be mentioned in this text in a sort of prophetic passage.
For example, the party Halfling was easy – One who is small of heart, but large of deed. Pretty vague in that it could just be somebody short, a Halfling, a dwarf, even an elf, or even a non-standard race.
The human rogue was fairly easy as well, as he is the one that treads in the dark shadows of the night.
The late ranger was easy as well, as his background was that he lost his family and was seeking to avenge them by killing the perpetrators: born of man but wed to the wood, whose past is pain and whose present is vengeance. Unfortunately, that PC died.
However, I am drawing a blank on the rest and would appreciate any help. Here is the rest of the group:
1) Elf paladin of Freedom (A C/G alternate paladin), who seeks to strike at the heart of the evil slave-trading theocracy. I could not think of a good alternate name for elf besides fey? Or, maybe I should focus on the freedom and/or paladin part?
2) Burly dwarf fighter who came out of retirement to find his missing nephew. The party recently found out that the nephew, if still alive, was likely captured by pirate raiders who often sell their captives to the evil slave-trading theocracy.
3) A C/G priestess of a nature goddess (think Diana/Artemis); whose father was a notable ranger, but died when she was young. She was estranged from her mother and left home at a young age. The mother recently died
4) A C/G sorcerer who is the 4th son of a minor noble. Sort of the family black sheep in that he did not engage in martial training, and went out to become an adventurer to impress his father through other means.
Thanks!
