The booming of the steel knocker interrupted the thunder three times the first night as three guests arrived. The first was a beautiful woman riding a horse who brought an owl inside with her. The second was a handsome young man whose charm helped lift the spirits of a tired old man. The third was another woman and Tywin greets her with a smile, “Maybe the curse is finally over.” He mumbles to himself and he shows her to her room. The morning comes and Persephone is the first to wake. She walks down the stairs and she notices how run down the estate seems to be. For the most part, the furniture is in disrepair and dust and cobwebs adorn all of the corners. Most of the sconces on the wall are without torch or candle. She can feel the heat and smell a fire and easily finds her way into the kitchen. She sees Tywin poking the fire and holding a small log. He stands straight “Good morning Lady Persephone, I hope you found your room acceptable.” His eyes have dark circles and his pant cuffs are caked with mud. “I apologize for its condition, but I was only called a few days ago and there was much to do.” Persephone asks about NeMoren and his wife. “My dear, you must not know the story. The master’s wife was kidnapped shortly after their wedding. The young lord never recovered from the loss. You will find many paintings of her, but most of them were painted after he abduction. Her wardrobe was claimed by mold and moths many years ago.” Tywin tosses the log he was holding into the fire and a wave of dry warm air moves across the room, temporarily taking the edge off of the cool damp air. “I should have the stew ready in about and hour, but I do have some warm spiced wine if you would like.” Meanwhile Gurter has also risen and begins to take a quick peak of the estate. You notice it is larger than it appears from the outside. The rooms have what would be a beautiful view of the small town of Weston, but the gloom of the morning drizzle steals away any of the normal awe. Each of the bedrooms on the second floor is drab with old un-kept furniture, moldy mattresses, dirty windows and moth eaten drapes. One of the two bedroom suites looks to be recently cleaned. The furniture while still old is polished, the floor has recently been washed and the room has fresh linens and drapes. On the ground level there are several rooms, a formal dining room, a study, a formal sitting room, foyer and kitchen. As you approach the kitchen you hear the voice of Tywin and a young woman. When Gurter sees Persephone, he is slightly baffled and speechless by the sheer beauty of her but quickly recovers and greets while smiling: "Well met fair lady, what brings you to this place of wonder?" while he thinks to himself "Well this could get interesting..." Anna, the last guest of the night walks into the kitchen, dressed in her usual attire, worn traveling clothes, her long dark brown hair bound back into a ponytail. Her sword rests on her hip, and the unicorn symbol of Ehlonna hangs from a thin silver chain around her neck. She smiles pleasantly at the two other guests. "Good morning to you both. You here about the inheritance?" Anna glances over at the owl perched on the woman's shoulder. "Interesting pet. Do you hunt with him?" "Hunt? Actually, I don't hunt, although Fridly has been hunting lately, as I haven't been able to feed him from the palace kitchen." Persephone replies to Anna, tilting her lovely head slightly. Then, softly, with an air of confidentiality, "I'm a princess." Then, more loudly, in response to Gurter's question, "I think I'm related to these NeMorens on my Mothers side. How about you? Are you a prince?" Just as Gurter is about to respond, a side entrance into the kitchen opens and a tall, powerful man, with tanned brown skin, and black hair ducks his head as he enters the kitchen. He walks with the ease of a man confident in himself and in his capabilities. It is impossible not to notice the large great sword at his side. He is wearing cured leather pants, with fringes. The pants have beads woven down the side. His moccasins are also made of leather, with beads woven into an intricate design. A headband made of braided and beaded leather keeps his shoulder length hair out of his eyes. The headband alternates with white and gray triangles, and a golden ring is embedded into it. Two parallel white stripes of paint adorn each cheek. He has a large brass band circling his upper arms He looks from face to face, “My name is Hawk. I come from the north. Who are you?”
