Message: <blockquote data-quote="Skade" data-source="post: 1253801" data-attributes="member: 3320">I am certainly in the minority here, but I think a movie might actually be better if done well.   I think one of the problems with the series, and anime in general, is that it was too drawn out.  How many times did we need to see Shinji freak out, then because he had no choice become the hero?  How many times did we need to see Rei beaten and crushed and still do what she needed to?  How many times did we need to hear Asuka bitch and moan?  It became tedious, perhaps not as tedious as DBZ characters discussing power levels, and grunting ad nasuem, but still quite repetive.  My hope is that the movie gets a talented anime fan to write a script from scratch, keeping all the elements of the story and no condensing them, but recrafting them into a 2 hour spectacular.  Some things will not survive this process.  The convoluted "explanations" at the end of the series are gone.  You won't get to see every angel attack Tokyo.  You won't necesarilly get each characters introduction, and the penguin is probably right out.</blockquote>
