Net of Returning...what happens if you actually capture someone?

What happens if you capture someone with, oh, lets say a +1 Net of Returning, are they dragged back to you at the beginning of the next turn according to the Returning enchantment description or what? If you don't consider the person tied, how about with the combination of a net of returning and animate rope or similar?

The net returns, not the creature. It's damn near impossible to teleport an unwilling creature. All the Teleport type spells say "willing creature".

I suppose that's a DM's call. I'd rule that the perticular net weapon simply does not return on a hit... the only way its attack is effective is if it sticks on the target.

A net that automatically yaked away the target would have to be some brand-new item, subject to DM's approval.

IMC it attempts to return, dragging the victim towards you at a rate of 0 ft. per round. It looks comical, especially if the net has an enchantment to make it sound like a panting dog.
