What OS are you running?
Why do you need to remove these icons?
Are you on a network with other computers?
Are you the network administrator, or is someone else in charge of your network?

Im on 98, printer not working on the network, have 2 computers on a home network

98 2nd edition?

You can find out by right clicking on My Computer, Select Properties and the window that comes up will show the OS installed on the top right of that window. If this says Windows 98, then it is 1st edition. It will say "Second Edition" if it is installed.

The reason? Second Edition included many updates, especially to the network itself. If you don't have this, I HIGHLY suggest updating and that alone may fix your issue. You should be able to download the update file from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloads/default.asp

Better do it fast, though. Official Support for win 98 ends on July 11, 2006!

The only way I know of doing this is to:
1) Make sure the printer is disconnected from the computer or network.
2) Make sure neither computer is sharing the printer.
3) Shut both computers off.
4) Turn both computers on.

One of your computers is acting as the browser master, and I suspect it "remembers" the non-functioning printer. By removing the printer and any shares pointing to it, then rebooting, it should clear that out.

Let us know if that works.
