New Action! System Extension posted!

Gold Rush Games

First Post
I've posted a new Extension for Action! System.

The new "Sanity" Extension allows GMs to inflict sanity loss on player characters when dealing with the supernatural. Also useful for any other genre in which traumatic events have a profound affect on the characters.

The Sanity Extension document contains Open Content.

Check it out at http://www.action-system.com!

Most excellent indeed.

Although, don't the terms of the Open Game License version 1.0a state clearly that a copy of the license must be included in documents containing material released under said license?

(Open Game License 1.0a, Section 10 - Copy of this License: You MUST include a copy of this License with every copy of the Open Game Content You Distribute.)

My understanding is no, for the same reason that WotC needn't use the OGL for material they release. This is because they *own* the d20 System, just as we own the Action! System, thus the subsequent Derivative Material isn't licensed under the OGL. It is merely released under the OGL.

However, I concede that I may be misunderstanding that requirement of the license. And so I am inserting the text of the OGL in all of our Open Content docs just to be safe and will be reposting the updated versions in short order.

Actually, notice that WotC includes the OGL with all Open Game Content they release. For example:

The Player's HandBook does NOT have a copy of the OGL. It also comes with the notice that it contains no open game content.

The SRD contains a copy of the OGL, and is entirely Open Game Content.

the Fiend Folio does not have a copy (and contains no OGC), whereas the Monster Manual 2 does have a copy of the Open Game License as it contains some OGC (specifically, quite little - 2 monsters).

Okay, the updates are done and the new Open Content files are now on the site available for download.

Thanks again for your observations.
