My impressions about last night's episode: ------------------------ He saw it. Oh, yes, he saw it. :-) One note about Lady Chatterly - er, Cordelia: Notice that the Beast did not hurt Angel nearly as much as she did. Gunn himself noted that Angel had never been "that down after a battle before." It wasn't defeat; it was betrayal. The question on every viewer's mind, "what was Cordie thinking?" has been answered, and amazingly, it was answered in the way I thought it wouldn't be. What was she thinking? She wasn't. That simple. Does she "want Angel so badly, she'll sleep with someone who reminds her of him?" Apparently, she didn't want Angel badly enough - because the whole "hug-buddy & bed-buddy" combo has a history of not working out too well. The beast has surprised me. For something that looks like a bad "Legend" reject (apologies to Tim Curry), it has captivated me with purpose and with flair. I can't wait to see what he is, and more importantly, WHY he is. Wesley and Gunn: Gunn is being a sphincter-muscle, no hold barred. Wesley has not only saved their lives indirectly, but saved Gunn's life DIRECTLY last episode, and he's STILL got issues! I really want to see the event that actually brings these two eye-to-eye again, because his hatred has gone on for an unhealthy period of time. Wesley's betrayal is FAR milder than the betrayals that the rest of AI have indulged in over the past year. BUUUT - did you notice that Gunn trusted Wesley with Fred's life? He knows that Wes cares for her, and would put her health in his care should anything happen to him. Now isn't THAT a little fun pinata to crack open? Gunn/Fred: Now there's a conundrum wrapped in a mystery. I hope they resolve their "Bonnie & Clyde" relationship problem, because I have a feelign that one or the other is not long for this world, the way things are going. Wesley/Fred: She really is pretty darned clueless, isn't she? :-) Gavin - my favorite line of the night wasn't even a line - it was Gavin's expression when Lilah told him to "go check it out downstairs." The part about who he was more afraid of was necessary, but kind of anti-climactic. R.I.P. to the most ineffectual yet ambitious Laywer/Accountant at Wolfram & Hart. Actually, I have one other favorite: When Angel and Connor are talking about Zombies. A: "Zombies are undead things." C:"Like you." A: "No, zombies are dim-witted and slow-moving things that crave human flesh." C: "Like you." A: "NO! NOT LIKE ME!" :D:D:D I loved the show, and it has set the stage for a grand turn of events. What happens to Conner/Cordie/Angel now is totally in the air, but I'm hooked, as usual.
