Doesn't Dean Cain count? If you're saying, "no one has played Superman on the big screen after Reeves"....then yes, you're right. As far as the new Batman show is concerned, I was a bit put off myself at what I was seeing. But then, I was the same way with a lot of other shows and didn't give them a chance. When I went back to watch them later (borrowing a friend's copy or something), I found out that I missed out on a good show. And I missed out all because the media machine that promoted it to the public gave me the wrong impression. I've come to realize that the marketing divisions are probably the wrong people to give me an impression on what the show will be like. Also, small bits of artwork here and there doesn't say anything either. True, it gives you sense of what the show may look like. So in a way...that's the only thing we can actually criticize at this point. But, as I've experienced over many viewing of animation shows over the years, model sheets and actual finished animation 'feel' different once you see it moving and alive in its artistic setting. Oh...heh heh heh, I never judge a show by its toyline. Most (but not all)American toy companies always have their heads up their arses when it comes to what needs to be truly done for the fans. IMHO. *shrug* we'll see how it comes out when it does. But one things for sure. Or at least for me.....is that I'm ready to see a new Batman. I love the old animated series a bunch...but really, I wouldnt' want to see more of the same. I've seen it for so long already. For me, I'm glad they're trying something new rather than simply making new episodes off the old style.
