interesting answer to the non-lethal damage question at the end there.

and the mecha gadget one seems to back me up about mecha weapons being usable outside of a mecha ;) guess i have my anti mecha weapons right there...

Yup. And it illustrated one of my pet peeves.
"What's the benefit of [x]? It deals less damage than [y]!!! *sniffle* Why even include it if it deals less damage? WAAAAAHHHH!! I want my numbers higher!"
Not every weapon is every other weapon's equal.
Why include a .22 pistol when a Barrett Light .50 deals so much more damage?
Why include mechanics for a thrown punch when a grenade is obviously the more logical choice because of its superiority by the numbers?

Once more... for any of my group who may be reading... I am forever thankful for you guys!
So glad I don't have number crunchers in my game.
 

One thing that came up when I was reading for my reply on the Honorverse d20 thread was that the Royal Navy liked to use flechette guns because they were far less likely to puncture the hull.

Not only that... but there's just no accounting for taste.
There are all kinds of RP reasons to use the weapon of choice which may just boil down to "Because I think they're spiffy!" :)
