( <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Leaves" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Leaves</a> )By and large the campaign was a success.  It lasted about 2 years and only broke up because RW problems intruded.Caveat- I was a bit burned out on D&D when I was asked to run this campaign by friends.  Because of this, I made one crucial error in my creature design.The Dark had the ability to make creatures succumb to a minor and very focused form of mind control- they could force you to extinguish light sources or make you reconsider using attacks that shed light (including spells like lightning bolt or fireball, flaming weapons, etc.).  I resolved this by using a Will save mechanic.  They attacked by doing a little HP damage with a chance of ability damage on a crit.My error was that I usually had them damage Str, but high level PCs would routinely make their Will saves and use terribly damaging light-shedding attacks.  I should have had The Dark drain Wis instead.  The result was that the climactic battle was a bit less epic than it should have been.</blockquote>
