New Campaign

OK - so I'm starting a new campaign and have decided to use a restricted list of monsters for it. This is not exclusive as there will be rare occurences when the players will encounter others but I'm trying to set a theme.

Part of the mythology revolves around all living things being descended from the "Great Dragon" and so a lizard/serpent theme will be used.

Obvious opponents are:

couatl
dinosaur
dragon
kobolds
lizard (normal and giant)
lizardfolk
medusa (OK it's a stretch with this one!)
sahuagin
shocker lizard
snake (various)
yuan-ti

Any I've missed?

One of my concerns is that by restricting in this way there will not be enough of a spread of monsters to make adequate challenges from levels 1-20. (I know I can add class levels but that's not what I'm looking for.)

Any one have any ideas?

Yeah but I'd wait for the CC Revised since it has corrected stats for CC 1.
