Hmm.. I can dig it:) Sounds like someone I know.. I also have to draft the origin/background of a new character so here's mine... ___________________________________________________ Symianus, son of lowborn farmers, was removed shortly after his third birthday by a wandering mystic who sensed in him the potential to become a great wielder of the arcane arts. The wanderer paid a tidy sum to Symianus's parents in exchange for custody of the boy. Neither Sym nor his estranged parents have attempted to re-establish the familial bond. Traveling with the Mystic to the large southern metropolis of Anon, Symianus was soon sequestered among the lofty towers of the Tempus Arcanum. A society of wizards who sought the perfection of arcane knowledge above all things. Sym grew to understand the advanced concepts of weaving the strings of magic at an astonishing rate. His rapid ascent in ranking among his peers caused great conflicts among the senior instructors in the order. His natural knack for summoning magics and general disinterest in the more destructive arts of evocation was recognized and encouraged. In little less than 12 years Sym had reached a point in his understandings of the fine mechanics of arcane conjuration that he was promoted to journeyman status within the order. As a result of the atypical promotion, the elder members of the order encouraged Sym to leave the Tempus Arcanum, and travel into the outer world. Ending the traditional training and instruction in the arts seven years before any who had before. Sym's natural curiosity, and innate perceptions have helped to curb his rampant exhilaration and lack of restraint in dealing with the new world he now travels. Sym is naturally attracted to unique experiences, both for the search for understanding, as well as to gain insight into the grander designs of the multi-verse. The one goal Sym has held since an early age was truly the reason for his 'encouraged travels'. When he had begun to understand the fundamental structures of the divinities and was introduced to the concept of planar existence, Symianus told his metaphysics instructor that he would one day commune with the celestial hosts, and would seek the answer to a very simple question. "Why do Gods exist?" Of course his instructors merely dismissed the statement as a childish folly, but as Sym developed, and learned they realized it had not been an idle question, and Sym fully intended to have his chance to ask. The sulking wizards had no love of the divine font, and so they had no interest in upsetting the powers with esoteric questions. This debate raged for six months, and in the end Sym was 'encouraged' to travel. He has since journeyed far tot he north of his adopted order, joined with a cleric, a ranger and a person of some questionable employment. Most of whom he met in a bar by asking his usual innane questions. ____________________________________________________ By the way, Sym is in the same game as Crothians' ranger.. we shall see how things progress:) Lord Apoc
