New D&D campaign setting by Ray Winniger?

Did anyone else notice the recent profile in Dragon 293. It was mentioned that Ray Winniger is working on a new D&D camaign setting. For those that haven't read it here's the quote:

"... and he's currently in the early stages of writing a lengthy sourcebook detailing an original D&D campaign setting."

So has anyone heard any more information on what this might possibly be? In the article he's quoted as saying he enjoys his settings a bit quirky and distinctive. If his Dragon column is any indication I think any setting he designs will be interesting at least.

I'm glad they're doing a new setting. I've been looking forward to a 3E campaign setting that was different from the Realms or Greyhawk. If they can rival the originality of Darksun and Planescape I'd definatly buy it, that's for sure.

That's very interesting! :) (I don't have Dragon #293 yet - argh! :() Maybe it's his current Dungeoncraft World? Probably not, though...

I hope it isn't this campaign setting, as I think its pretty terrible.

That is of course because I dislike the setting, not the author.

Has Ray Winniger ever posted here? It be pretty cool if we could get more information on this from him.

I was just getting ready to post this....

This must be the new setting that Anthony Valerta mentioned.

Cool,

And yes, Ray has posted a few times on the previous version of these boards. I suspect he'll find his way here eventually.

Perhaps he's been tasked with making a Campaign Sourcbook of the Chainmail setting?
While that might be interesting I'm looking forward to seeing something a little different than 'the other side' of Greyhawk. Plus the whole "...original D&D campaign setting" makes me think it'll be something new.

I absolutely had no interest in the Lost World dinosaur/jungle setting he was doing in Dragon and consequently never read an article by Ray, until the new Dragon came out. I think Ray is a good writer after having read his 7 rules of Dungeoncraft article and think he will most likely do a good job with whatever setting he's working on... Whether the setting is useful or interesting to me (and whether or not I will buy it) are another kettle of fish entirely.

Wizards had promised a new D&D campaign setting for next year on their website some time ago, if anyone recalls.

BTW: I, too, hope the new setting is not the Chainmail/other side of Greyhawk setting. I would not buy that under any circumstances.

While Lost World, or Janda's Valley or whatever it was called was certainly a risk as far as a setting goes, his previous setting, available on the Dragon website, is really cool.
