As the above poster pointed out, it's not Chainmail. It's a new game, though from all likelihood many of the rules will be the same (Both rules-sets are based off D&D, so obviously there'll be similarities). But yeah, it's a line of random, pre-painted, plastic miniatures. The bases of the small and medium creatures will fit in a 1" square grid. The bases of large creatures will take up about 4 squares. Approximately 80 in the first assortment, but they intend to add more. In September when it comes out, they'll be releasing Harbinger Expansion Packs (Through which they'll be selling the initial 80 figure assortment). But in November, they'll start releasing Dragoneye Expansion Packs, which'll have new miniatures, including dragons and Dragonlance figures (To coincide with the release of the Dragonlance RPG corebook). The Expansion Packs, by the way, are $9.99 for 8 miniatures. So that's approximately $1.25 per miniature, though they ARE random. Won't know what you get til you open it. There'll be a rarity level ranging from Common, to Uncommon, to Rare. Each Expansion Pack will have 4 Commons, 3 Uncommons, and 1 Rare. No clue, beyond the following:

It'll be a separate book, usable for miniature wargaming and D&D.
It'll introduce new Core Classes, Prestige Classes, and other stuff.
It'll have rules for anything from skirmishes to mass combat.
BTW: From the reports, so far (Last time I counted, there were 3 different sources attesting to this), it's likely that the miniatures are made out of polystyrene, not polyvinyl, which is the crappy malleable plastic that WizKids uses. Polystyrene is the plastic Games Workshop uses for its plastic miniatures.
