Sure, things change, but I doubt it was the reason why the CR cast decided to go on their own. Some of them mentioned that it took a long time to make it happen, which sounds realistic, since it does take a lot of time and effort to set up an operation from scratch. I guess they decided to split when things really took off with the first campaign and they started getting online viewers in the five digits, because with such level of viewers, you can actually make money out of it and not just have it as a great hobby, but still just a hobby. I'm not calling the CR cast greedy by any means - I guess the money they make is not that big as it is still a niche product. However, they can now afford full creative freedom, not having to go through corporate channels to get a new show approved.I am personally very happy that CR can be on their own now, and I wish them all the luck they can get. I also wish luck to anyone else who wants to try new things, since the more variety there is, the more the audience will grow. I think Deborah Ann Woll is a great choice, and I can only hope more will follow. A dream of mine is someone to do a game in the Firefly universe (there is an RPG system for that setting) and have the show cast guest star as their characters from the TV series ...
