A new Dungeons & Dragons game is in development for the GameCube and the Xbox.

Infogrames has officially announced that it is developing Dungeons & Dragons Heroes for the GameCube and the Xbox. One of the co-designers of Wizardry 8, Brenda Brathwaite, will oversee the project. In this action adventure game, players will be able to select from one of four characters drawn from the major Dungeons & Dragons character classes such as fighter, cleric, wizard, and rogue. Each will have around 40 combat moves, as well as a variety of special attacks. The monsters in the game have been taken from the Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual, while the skill, feat, and character building systems have been taken from the 3rd Edition Dungeons & Dragons rules.
Dungeons & Dragons Heroes is currently scheduled for release in the fall. We'll have more coverage on the game from E3.

Don't get too excited. They will pump up the game for half a year, then delay the release date for several months. They will end up releasing it just after Christmas and then complain about its poor sales.

I wish I never heard about games until a week before their release.

Oh blah. I got my hopes up for Baulders Gate: Dark Alliance and it was pretty much garbage. I'll rent this puppy in three years when it comes out, but I'm not expecting much.

In the meantime, i have the image of yoda the warrior-guru to keep my happy up. ;)

Nah, just be patient. They'll do a port to PS2 soon enough. Profit wise they'd be fools not to.:)

That is if it's possible. But if the games comes out with hardware specs that the PS2 simply can't live up to, it will have to remain an X-box and Gamecube title only.

It's possible. It'll take more than a year before they even start hitting the wall on what the machines can do. they have not on the PS2 yet and it's a little older. Lord knows XboX and Nintenda have to be praying for something like that to coem up though. Especially XboX.
